Goal Post: Week 4

[Cross-posted]

I didn’t even have time for a goal update this week, and by the weekend I was too brain-fried to bother. The good news is that for the first time ever last week I earned too much to qualify for an unemployment check — which is really excellent timing, since my unemployment year expires at the end of this month. I didn’t make my “Need to make $X to make ends meet” quota, but I would have if I hadn’t spent most of Monday on unpaid hours trying to fix that broken WordPress blog.

Speaking of which, the bad news is, broken blog is still broken. I found some WordPress smarties to help me find the problem (thanks to my awesome cousin-in-law — thanks, Stevie!), but I haven’t heard back from them yet. I don’t know whether it’s because they haven’t had time to delve into it yet or because they’re as stumped as I am.

Meanwhile, I’ve got enough on my plate to ensure another profitable week, with end-of-month deadlines keeping me in head-down, git ‘er done mode, so you probably won’t hear much else from me this week, either. I’m also attending two free Small Business Administration classes, one Tuesday morning and one on Thursday, on business taxes and accounting. Those are each three hours long, so I’m definitely going to have to scramble to make up for the time lost to those, but hopefully they’ll teach me what I need to know. If they help me stop stressing out about my taxes, it’ll be worth it.

So that’s pretty much my only goal for this week – meet my deadlines and get these projects wrapped up by the end of the month, including the broken blog.

Are you also racing the clock this week? Or are your goals a little more leisurely? Tell us all about them in the comments.

I haven’t even thought about goals this week yet. I didn’t hit my writing goals but the exercise is going really well.
So lets say I’ve got the same problems as last week…

My goal is to finish up 2009 at work: W2s, 1099s, 940, 941, SUTA. And then I get to start on getting our books ready for the accountant. Oh, joy.
I’m very grateful to have a job. I’m extremely grateful to have a job that works with my health issues. But when is retirement?
